Accessibility statement

Our target

This site is built to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2, level AA. That standard is the benchmark we hold ourselves to on every page, not an aspiration for later.

• Keyboard and screen reader

  Every menu, form and control can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone. A skip link jumps straight to the main content, headings run in order, and interactive controls announce their name, role and state.

• Colour and contrast

  Body text, headings and interface controls meet or exceed the 4.5:1 contrast ratio required at level AA. Colour is never the only way a message is conveyed.

• Text that scales

  Text can be enlarged to 200% and the layout reflows to a single column without loss of content or function. Atkinson Hyperlegible, designed by the Braille Institute for low-vision readers, is used throughout.

• Motion you control

  Animations are brief and never essential. If your device is set to reduce motion, they are switched off entirely.

• Touch and pointer

  Buttons and links are at least 44 by 44 pixels so they can be used comfortably with a finger, a stylus or a tremor.

• Documents

  Bylaws, the Code of Ethics and the privacy policy are published as real web pages with headings and a table of contents, not as scanned PDFs, so they can be read aloud, searched and printed.

Known limitations

• Some registration and payment steps are handled by outside services, whose pages we do not control. If one of them blocks you, tell us and we will complete your registration by hand.
• Older documents and photographs carried over from the previous website may lack full descriptions. We are working through them.
